Hoshino Resorts to receive the "Nihon Service Award" from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism

Hoshino Resorts, a hotel management company, which operates over 40 properties within and outside of Japan has received the “Nihon Service Award” from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. This is the first time Hoshino Resorts was awarded with the “Nihon Service Award” and the award is given to those who contribute to enriching people’s lives. Our efforts of creating new service by combining the potential needs of customers with local tourism resources. With the aim to become a globally competitive hotel management company, we will continue to explore the charms of each region, and will create fun and enjoyable trips.

About the “Nihon Service Award”
Japanese society is changing day by day through the engagement in regional revitalization, diversification of primary to tertiary industries, globalization, cross-industry collaborations, health, work style reformation, multicultural coexistence, etc, where new demand for service is increasing in different fields. This award recognizes the initiatives towards enriching the lives of people either by capturing the potential needs of customers and/or improving service with customers.

Reasons for Receiving the Award
– Continuation of planning and proposing new travel experiences and services per season through their own mechanism. At Hoshino Resorts Oirase Keiryu Hotel, the staff focused on local resource, the ice fall, which created demand for winter tourism.

– Contribution to an increase in occupancy rate of the properties, by proactively promoting experiences and services (6,000 media exposures a year). In addition, the creation of value by designing a sense of high quality and premium experiences and services, and contribution to high customer satisfaction were important elements towards receiving the award.

– Efforts towards overcoming the affects of the outbreak of the novel coronavirus by planning and reorganizing business plans, assuming a year and eight months ahead. Furthermore, the promotion of “microtourism” has encouraged the tourism industry.
