> Ways of spending time because of solo travel
HOSHINOYA Tokyo – Hot spring trip just for yourselfWe recommend HOSHINOYA Tokyo in Otemachi if you are looking for experiencing hot spring ryokan (Japanese inn) in urban Tokyo. This property offers an exclusive stay in the big city, where you will have to walk barefoot on soft, tatami mats, which will surely become a new habit once you experience it. The act of taking off the shoes to enter will evoke a sense of home even when traveling in a foreign country. You can choose to enjoy a relaxing moment at the open-air hot spring on the 17th floor, an experience of body healing at the spa, or a one and only dining experience of “Nippon Cuisine.” HOSHINOYA Tokyo will be a great place for those who want to relax at a hot spring ryokan whilst in the heart of Tokyo.

HOSHINOYA Okinawa – Gazing into the ocean and experiencing the luxury of doing nothingThe entire site of HOSHINOYA Okinawa faces the ocean so all guest rooms have a panoramic view of the ocean. It is the perfect place to enjoy the luxury of doing nothing, which can be difficult outside solo travel. We recommend looking into the ocean from the terrace living area in the guest rooms. Any stress or tension can be relieved by focusing on the movements of the salty waters, the change in color of the water, and the sounds of the waves.

HOSHINOYA Karuizawa – From hot springs to experiences that tap into our curiosityKaruizawa is a popular weekend destination for people in the Kanto area, where it is only 70 minutes away from Tokyo station on a bullet train. We recommend HOSHINOYA Karuizawa for those who want to get a full experience of nature, hot springs, meals, and everything nice. There are plenty of options in nearby areas, where you can choose to walk around the foot of Mount Asama, listen in to the chirping of wild birds, feel the nature of Karuizawa by using all your senses, go to the nearby Hoshino Area to enjoy hot springs, shops and restaurants. Depending on your budget and interest, you can choose from having a soak in “Tombo no Yu” with an indoor Hinoki bathtub and outdoor rock bath, relaxing in the meditation bath for hotel guests only, joining the eco-tour to learn about the environment, visiting 16 different shops and restaurants that align along the HARUNIRE terrace, spa that aims to balance the mind and body, etc.

HOSHINOYA Kyoto – Getting in touch with the culture of KyotoHOSHINOYA Kyoto is located in Oku-Arashiyama, which was once a favored area for the Heian aristocracy to build their second home. Kyoto has many Japanese gardens and has been protected and passed down from generation to generation. At HOSHINOYA Kyoto, there is a special garden that incorporates both the traditions of Kyoto as well as the modern influence and there are a number of activities hosted each season with the guidance of our gardener or staff. Learning about the nature of Oku-Arashiyama and the culture of Kyoto is a one and only experience at HOSHINOYA Kyoto.

HOSHINOYA Taketomi Island – Learning the ways of remote island living and reflecting it to your daily lifeTaketomi Island is 10 minutes by boat from Ishigaki Island and it is known as one of four places in the world with longevity. HOSHINOYA Taketomi Island has activities that will help guests to adjust their lifestyles through the teachings of wisdom from healthy islanders. The main focus is on the habits and diet of islanders, where moderate exercise in the field and having a meal centered around vegetable protein is introduced. We will propose a lifestyle that can only be experienced at Taketomi Island and will continue to pass down the wisdom of the islanders.

HOSHINOYA Fuji – Solo glampingHOSHINOYA Fuji is the first glamping resort in Japan and will host a solo glamping experience at the foot of Mount Fuji for solo travelers to spend an active stay. For solo glamping, our glamping master, who is an expert on nature, will curate an outdoor experience for each guest according to their needs. For those who want to enjoy meals, we recommend the experience where you choose your flavor of choice for making smoked food and enjoying the smoked food with whisky or beer.
