Tokyo Summer Nights 2021 at HOSHINOYA Tokyo

At HOSHINOYA Tokyo, a Japanese ryokan, Tokyo Summer Nights 2021 will be hosted from 1 July to 31 August 2021. There will be special installations to create a lively festival atmosphere, as well as activities popular at Japanese festivals, and special meals using summer ingredients. This year, a new addition to this event is the “HOSHINOYA Tokyo Sake Bar,” where local Sake and snacks from stores located in Kanda, Nihombashi, and Nigyo-cho area with a long history are available.

Otemachi, a district of central Tokyo where HOSHINOYA Tokyo resides, was once the residential quarters where the feudal lords built their lavish mansions near the castle. It is said that many people gathered, allowing traditional arts, food, and entertainment to develop. At HOSHINOYA Tokyo, we wanted our guests to experience this unique culture; re-living the days of such festivities and celebrations during the summer.

The “HOSHINOYA Tokyo Sake Bar” will embody the Izakaya bar culture that was once familiar to the people of Edo. A part of HOSHINOYA Tokyo will change its atmosphere once the sun sets and the day enters evening time. All the sake that can be enjoyed at this bar is local sake from Tokyo, such as “Toshimaya Shuzo” and “Tokyo Port Brewery.” In addition, to complement sake, there will be snacks from stores located in Kanda, Nihombashi and Nigyo-cho area with a long history. In a lively atmosphere reminiscent of Japanese summer festivals, staff wearing Happi jackets will offer a set of sake and snacks in exchange for HOSHINOYA Tokyo original coins.

2)Activities at the Night Market

At the spacious lobby and the entrance on the 1st floor, there will be activities to enjoy the atmosphere of a summer festival as well as the culture of Edo. The lobby is normally a quiet place, but as the day enters evening time, it will turn into a space full of energy with lively festival music.
