HOSHINOYA Kyoto, located in Arashiyama, famous for its autumn leaves
Arashiyama, where HOSHINOYA Kyoto is located, is a scenic area that once flourished as a holiday resort area for nobles of the Heian period. All 25 guest rooms, centered around the garden, face the Oi River, and when the windows are opened, guests can enjoy the refreshing breeze that flows through the valley as well as the seasonal scenery of Arashiyama. In autumn, the reds and yellows of the leaves can be enjoyed from the rooms.

A stay to enjoy autumn and the culture of Kyoto
・Experiencing Kyoto culture in autumn from the guest rooms
Guests can enjoy the beautiful autumn leaves from their rooms while feeling the gentle, cool breeze. The “Kyo-karakami” wallpaper with beautiful traditional patterns hand-printed one by one, the “Tatami sofas,” an original sofa where its height is calculated so that the viewpoint is the same as a person kneeling, etc are all elements to create a comfortable yet elegant stay with the essence of Kyoto culture. Moreover, to enjoy a private stay that is unique to Kyoto, guests can spend a focused time copying sutras, create pillow fragrances using natural scents of Japan, or relax in seasonal baths of herbs and fruits.

・Charging energy for the day with a morning hot pot full of fresh vegetables
For breakfast, a morning hot pot with plenty of vegetables and seasonal mushrooms will be served in the chef’s special soup broth. It also comes with grilled fish and tofu, so guests can get their energy from a well-balanced menu. To finish the meal, rice can be added to the soup, which has the flavors of the vegetables and mushrooms, to create savory porridge or “zousui.” The meal can be enjoyed with a view of the autumn leaves shining in the morning light.
